Masquerades

Foolish little child
Played the fool too long
And thought it cool
Thought the fool smart
And hopped with a start
Stepped about smiling
Clicking his heels nilly
Affected gaiety
Bought his own his act
But the fool was a fool
And foolery has a sell-by
A man’s shoes are a world
For the feet of a child
You cannot run
Who is yet to walk
His con will run its mile
Foolish little child
